Sen. Barack Obama is expected to announce his vice presidential candidate this week, according to reports on Monday.
Obama is expected to reveal his vice presidential candidate via text message as early as Wednesday. According to the New York Times, aides say that Obama has already selected his candidate, but has waited some time to announce it.
Instead of breaking the news at a media conference or at the 2008 Democratic National Convention (DNC), which begins Monday in Denver, Obama will instead notify campaign supporters through a text message first, a move that has never been done before in a political campaign.
Obama was believed to have narrowed his list to Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, Delaware Senator Joe Biden, Indiana Senator Evan Bayh and Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius. Many say that rival Sen. Hillary Clinton (D-NY) is also an option as well.
