Democratic National Convention Opens Monday, Howard Dean, Jesse Jackson Jr. to Speak, Michelle Obama Headliner
The Democratic National Convention will officially start in Denver, Colorado on Monday with Democratic National Committee Chair Howard Dean calling to order the Democrats push to nominate Illinois Sen. Barack Obama as the Party’s selection for the 2008 presidential election.
On tap for the opening day of the DNC will be the life story of Obama in which his path to becoming the Democratic presidential nominee is detailed.
Dean with open the DNC at 3:00 p.m. (Local Time) and that will include the former Vermont Governor turning over the gavel to Nancy Pelosi, the permanent Chair of the 2008 Democratic Convention.
At 7:00 p.m. Jesse Jackson Jr. will take the stage to begin the evening portion of the DNC and that will be followed by several speakers leading up to the wife of Barack Obama, Michelle Obama, headlining the event.
