The Democratic National Convention heads into its second day on Tuesday following an opening night that featured speeches delivered by Jesse Jackson Jr., Ted Kennedy and Michelle Obama, all addressing the message of hope that has been tied to the Barack Obama campaign.
According to the official Web site of the DNC Tuesday’s speeches will focus on “Americans who share Barack’s concerns and strongly support his detailed economic plan to grow the economy, create jobs, restore fairness, and expand opportunity.”
Much of the focus on Tuesday night will be on New York Sen. Hillary Clinton whose message could determine how successful Obama is in securing her supporters. Clinton lost a bitter Democratic presidential nomination bid to Obama and a large portion of her supporters have vowed to back Republican presidential candidate John McCain rather than Obama.
The keynote address will be delivered by Virginia Governor Mark Warner.
