Bill Clinton to Give National Security Speech at 2008 DNC Wednesday
Former President Bill Clinton will give his anticipated speech during the 2008 Democratic National Convention on Wednesday.
Clinton's wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, gave an exceptional speech on Tuesday, urging her supporters to unify the Democratic Party and back Sen. Barack Obama and Sen. Joe Biden on their trek to the White House.
Biden, the Democratic vice presidential candidate, will be the primetime speaker on Wednesday's schedule, but Clinton's speech is more anticipated, especially since it is reported that he was not happy about the topic of his address.
Clinton will give a speech about national security due to the theme of Wednesday's schedule being "Securing America's Future". Clinton preferred that the topic of his speech be about the economy and his record in office.
In addition to Clinton and Biden, former Senator Tom Daschle, Governor Bill Richardson and Senators Evan Bayh, John Kerry and Jay Rockefeller will give speeches on Wednesday.
Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, Convention home state Senator Ken Salazar, House Majority Whip James E. Clyburn, and Congressman Robert Wexler (D-FL) along with Chicago Mayor Richard Daley will also give speeches on Wednesday.
