In
an effort to advance the current state of the controversial $900 billion
stimulus bill U.S. President Barack Obama stated that “the time for talk is
over, the time for action is now.”
Obama
was speaking before the Energy Department on Thursday when he made the comments
and stressed that he wanted the stimulus package passed by Feb. 16. While Obama
wants the deal completed there are several senators who remain critical of some
of the spending commitments outlined in the package.
Despite
the criticism Obama stated, “the scale and the scope of this plan is the right
one.” While Obama and fellow Democrats may feel the stimulus package is right
Republicans have been looking to cut between $200-$250 billion from the deal
before endorsing the deal.
