The halfway point of the NFL Season is upon us. It is the time of the year when the importance of each game becomes more crucial each week. Last Sunday the New England Patriots took care of business against the reigning AFC Champion Denver Broncos. The Patriots hold sole possession of the AFC East and posses the best record in the AFC, which if it holds true will result in the Patriots possessing home field advantage throughout the playoffs.
Gillette Stadium in Foxboro, Massachusetts has been a friendly environment for Tom Brady and Bill Belichick over the years. It takes an incredible effort for the Patriots to be defeated at home. The crowd gets behind the team no matter what the weather forecast should be. Brady is back to being Tom Brady after skepticism grew after a Monday Night beat down that the Kansas City Chiefs put on them. People were going as far to say that Brady would not be in a Patriots uniform next season.
The defense for New England is doing enough to get the ball back in the hands of their captain, and keeping points off the scoreboard for the opponent. Rob Gronkowski seems to be recovered from his multiple injuries that he suffered last season. For any defense, the combination of Brady and Gronk has been one that is next to impossible to stop. The Patriots enter their bye heading into Week 10. A late bye ensures that the Patriots will be entering their last seven games with a rested roster and a clear mind focused towards the goal of another Super Bowl Championship. The remaining schedule includes tough opponents where six out of the seven teams could all playing for their own playoff spot.
