NFL Scores: New York Giants Goal Line Stand against Redskins Preserves First Win of the Year
The New York Giants scored 21 points in the second half while their defense shut-out the Washington Redskins after halftime to earn their first win of the year 24-17.
Washington had a chance to tie the score with less than a minute left but the Giants defense stepped it up and stopped the Redskins on four straight downs at the one-yard line to preserve the win.
The Giants trailed 17-3 heading into the second half but Reuben Droughns scored a pair of touchdowns on one yard runs to tie the score at 17-17.
Manning finished with 232 yards passing but tossed two interceptions. It was a rough outing for Jason Campbell as the Redskins quarterback was 16 of 34 on the day for 190 yards.
With the win the Giants improved to 1-2 on the year while the Redskins fell to 2-1.
