College Football News: #6 California Travels to #11 Oregon in Big Pac-10 Shootout

#6 California will take on #11 Oregon in a huge Pac-10 matchup. Both teams are undefeated and will battle head-to-head for a shot at the conference championship. California shared the title with USC last season and looks to take the whole title this year.

Oregon comes in riding a huge wave after their week 2 win over Michigan. Quarterback Dennis Dixon has become a viable Heisman trophy candidate. Running back Jonathan Stewart is the Pac-10's leading rusher. He leads the Ducks' rushing attack, which is fourth in the nation with 299.75 yards per game. The Ducks offense is also seventh in scoring nationally.

The game is going to be high-powered.

The Golden Bears have an array of offensive weapons. Running back Justin Forsett is second in the Pac-10 in rushing, right behind Stewart, with 121 yards per game. The receiving corps of LaVell Hawkins and DeSean Jackson have the speed to open up the Oregon defense.

This will be the second game against a ranked opponent for Cal, which beat then-No. 15 Tennessee 45-31 in the season opener Sept. 1.

Like Cal, Oregon went to a hostile environment in the Michigan game and reigned victorious. This time, Oregon will be the home team with Cal ready to leave the field with another victory over a top ranked team.
