Kevin Eberhart kicked a 45-yard field goal as time expired to give the Colorado Buffaloes an unbelievable upset win over the #3 Oklahoma Sooners 27-24 on Saturday.
What made the final score all the more incredible was the 20 unanswered points the Buffaloes scored to earn the win, 17 of those points came in the deciding fourth quarter. Eberhart started the spree of points with a 41-yard field goal late in the third quarter and capped the run with the game winner to ignite a wild celebration a Folsom Field in
Cody Hawkins led the Buffaloes through the fateful fourth with a pair of touchdown passes, the first to Tyson DeVree on a 4-yard dump and the second to Dusty Sprague on a 15-yarder that tied the score at 24-24.
Hawkins finished with 219 yards passing along with the two touchdowns while Hugh Charles rushed for 110 yards and a touchdown to balance the Buffaloes attack.
Sooners quarterback Sam Bradford struggled throughout the game and finished 8 of 19 for 112 yards and two interceptions.
The loss not only damages the Sooners hopes of chasing down a national title but now puts them at 0-1 in the Big 12.
