With their 34-13 blowout of the Cincinnati Bengals the talk continues to surround the possibility of the New England Patriots running the table and completing a perfect season. With just one quarter of the season complete the Patriots sit at 4-0 but with the way they played on MNF there might not be a team that could compete with their dominant offense.
Tom Brady was on display once again as he threw for 231 yards and three touchdowns while off-season acquisition Randy Moss finished with his fourth straight game of 100-plus yards receiving as he totaled 102 yards and a pair of touchdowns.
It wasn’t all offense for the Patriots as their defense held the Bengals to just 57 yards rushing and picked off quarterback Carson Palmer twice. The Pats also did a good job of keeping the duo of Chad Johnson and T.J. Houshmandzadeh in check as the pair combined for 153 yards receiving and a touchdown.
Lost in the shuffle of the big names was Sammy Morris who ran for 117 yards and a touchdown for the Patriots. It was his ability to gain positive yards that opened up the field for Brady who completed 25 of 32 attempts on the night.
The loss dropped the Cincinnati Bengals to 1-3 on the season and alone in last place in the AFC North.
