Heisman Trophy Race: College Football Week 5

After Week 5, the Heisman race is developing more consistency. It is obvious who is had great games on a regular basis, who is talented yet not producing, and who is emerging from the pack. Here is this week's update on the Heisman race, equipped with season statistics. The list is not in any order.

 

Arkansas running back Darren McFadden had 19 carries for 138 yards and two touchdowns in a 66-7 win against North Texas.

Season Stats: 105 carries, 657 yards, 6 TDs

 

Michigan running back Mike Hart had his lowest input all season with 30 carries for 106 yards and a touchdown in 28-16 win against Northwestern

Season Stats: 157 carries, 761 yards, 7 TDs

 

Wisconsin running back P.J. Hill had 34 carries for 155 yards and two touchdowns in 37-34 win against Michigan State

Season Stats: 139 carries, 667 yards, 9 TDs

 

Rutgers running back Ray Rice had 21 carries for 97 yards and a touchdown in a 34-24 loss to Maryland

Season Stats: 95 carries, 528 yards, 9 TDs

 

Florida quarterback Tim Tebow was 20-for-27 for 207 yards, one touchdown and an interception in a 20-17 loss to Auburn. He also had 19 carries for 75 yards and a rushing touchdown.

Season Stats: 85-for-122, 1,297 yards, 11 TDs, 2 INTs; 89 carries, 433 yards, 8 TDs

 

Oklahoma quarterback Sam Bradford had his worst game of the season, completing just 8-for-19 passes for 112 yards for a touchdown and two interceptions. The Sooners were upset by Colorado, 27-24.

Season Stats: 83-for-115, 1,179 yards, 15 TDs, 4 INTs

 

Kentucky quarterback Andre Woodson completed 26-for-33 passes for 301 yards and a career-high five touchdowns and one interception. He snapped his NCAA streak of 325 consecutive passes with no interception in the 45-17 win against Florida Atlantic.

Season Stats: 112-for-167, 1,309 yards, 16 TDs, 1 INT

 

Louisville quarterback Brian Brohm completing 23-for-33 passes for 251 yards, one touchdown and an interception in a 29-10 win against NC State.

Season Stats: 134-for-201, 1,948 yards, 16 TDs, 4 INTs

 

California wide receiver DeSean Jackson had a career-high in receptions and yards against Oregon with 11 catches for 161 yards. He also scored two touchdowns in the 31-24 win against the Ducks.

Season Stats: 28 receptions, 312 yards, 2 TDs; 8 punt returns, 95 yards, 1 TD

 

Oregon quarterback Dennis Dixon completed 31-for-44 for 306 yards, one touchdown and two interceptions for the losing Ducks. He also ran for a touchdown.

Season Stats: 98-for-141, 1,245 yards, 12 TDs, 2 INTs; 56 carries, 301 yards, 5 TDs

 

After missing the game last week, Hawaii quarterback Colt Brennan returned to the helm. He completed 30-for-49 passes for 369 yards, three touchdowns and a career-high five interceptions. Hawaii won 48-20 over Idaho.

Season Stats: 133-for-182, 1631 yards, 15 TDs, 6 INTs

 

USC quarterback John David Booty completed 20-for-37 passes for 236 yards, one touchdown pass and a career-high two interceptions in their 27-24 win against Washington.

Season Stats: 89-for-135, 875 yards, 10 TDs, 4 INTs
