Manny Ramirez Ends game in the Ninth with Walk-Off Bomb to Give Red Sox 2-0 Series Lead Over Angels
Manny Ramirez hit a 1-0 fastball off Francisco Rodriguez clear over the seats that sit just beyond the green monster to give the Boston Red Sox a 6-3 win over the LA Angels and take a 2-0 series lead in their best-of-five series.
The Red Sox were able to tie the game in the bottom of the fifth when Mike Lowell plated Dustin Pedroia on a sacrifice fly to center but that would be the end of the offense for both teams until Ramirez came to the plate in the ninth.
After Matsuzaka was lifted in the fifth the Red Sox bullpen pitched 4 1/3 innings of hitless ball. Jonathan Papelbon picked up the win after throwing 1 1/3 innings.
