NFL Scores: Arizona Cardinals Keep St. Louis Rams Winless as Kurt Warner Takes Over
Kurt Warner was forced to take over the Arizona Cardinals offense after Matt Leinart suffered a broken collarbone late in the first half but the 36-year-old backup threw for 190 yards and a touchdown to lead his team past the St. Louis Rams 34-31 on Sunday.
The win improved the Arizona Cardinals to 3-2 on the year while the Rams remain winless, falling to 0-5 on the season.
Heading into the fourth quarter the game was tied 20-20 but that quickly changed when Roderick Hood picked of Rams quarterback Gus Frerotte and returned it 68-yards for a go-ahead touchdown.
Fitzgerald finished the game with 9 receptions for 136 yards and the one touchdown.
It was a strange game for Frerotte as he threw for 262 yards and three touchdowns but was also picked off three times.
