Peyton Manning threw for 253 yards and two touchdowns, Kenton Keith, starting in his first NFL game, rushed for 121 yards and two touchdowns, and the Indianapolis Colts defense limited the Tampa Bay Buccaneers offense to 177 yards in a dominant 33-14 victory on Sunday.
The win improved the Colts record to 5-0 on the year while the loss dropped the Buccaneers to 3-2 on the season.
Manning put the Colts on the board early as he found Dwight Clark on a 10-yard touchdown pass for a 7-0 lead. Keith, playing for a injured Joseph Addai, then added a 1-yard touchdown run on the first play of the fourth quarter to boost the lead to 13-0.
The Bucs answered with a Jeff Garcia to Alex Smith touchdown eight minutes later but Adam Vinatieri gave the Colts a 16-7 cushion at the half as he kicked a 27-yard field goal as time expired.
After a quick three and out the Colts took over and chewed up the remaining clock in the third quarter and scored on the first play of the fourth when Manning hit Reggie Wayne on a 9-yard touchdown pass to put the game away.
Despite missing five starters from their lineup the Colts looked dominant throughout the game as they held a 38:15 to 21:45 advantage in time of possession.
