Manny Ramirez went 2-2 with three RBIs and walked three times while David Ortiz went 2-2 while walking twice as the Boston Red Sox pounded the Cleveland Indians 10-3 in game one of the ALCS on Friday night.
The Red Sox tagged Indians’ ace C.C. Sabathia, knocking the lefty around for eight runs on seven hits and collecting five walks over 4 1/3 innings.

For his part Beckett through six strong innings, allowing to runs on four hits as he continued his post season brilliance. After giving up the homer to Hafner in the first Beckett retired the next ten Indians before hitting Ryan Garko to lead off the fifth. Beckett then induced a double play from Jhonny Peralta and after Kenny Lofton doubled he collected his seventh strike out, catching Franklin Gutierrez looking.
In the bottom of the fifth the Red Sox put three more runs up as Bobby Kielty drove in two with a single and Varitek then drove Kielty home with a double to give Boston an 8-1 advantage.
Both teams will meet again on Saturday as Fausto Carmona takes the hill for the Indians and Curt Schilling gets the ball for the Sox. Game time is set for 8:00 pm ET.
