College Football Scores: #4 Boston College Travels into South Bend and Beats Notre Dame
Matt Ryan threw for 292 yards and two touchdowns and the #4 Boston College Eagles defense limited the Notre Dame Fighting Irish to just 222 yards of total offense to earn a road win in
While the score looked close the Eagles dominated the Irish as they controlled the pace of the game throughout.
The Eagles built a 20-0 lead on a pair of touchdown runs from Andre Callender and a Ryan to Callender 9-yard touchdown pass early in the third quarter.
Frustrated with an ineffective Jimmy Clausen head coach Charlie Weis opted to go with junior quarterback Evan Sharpley and it paid off quickly as he hit Robby Parris on a 19-yard touchdown pass to cut into the Eagles lead 20-7.
Ryan was then picked off on the Eagles next possession and Brian Smith returned the gift 25-yards for a score and the Irish trailed by six with just under nine minutes remaining in the third quarter.
The defense of Boston College kept the Irish off the board the rest of the way and limited the Notre Dame running game to just 27 yards.
