George Steinbrenner has decided to step down from the daily operations of his New York Yankees club, allowing his two sons, Hank and Hal, to take the reigns of
Steinbrenner bought the Yankees in 1973 for a mere $8.7 million and has since won 6 World Series titles and 10 American League pennants.
Over those 30-plus years Steinbrenner has developed into one of the most recognizable owners in sports as his reputation for firing managers and issuing ultimatums has been legendary.
