Tim Tebow threw for 256 yards and four touchdowns and added another 78 yards on the ground and a TD as the #15 Florida Gators beat the #7 Kentucky Wildcats 45-37 on Saturday.
It was Kentucky who got on the board first as quarterback Andre’ Woodson found Dicky Lyons on a 33-yard touchdown in the first quarter but Tebow countered with a pair of touchdown passes, a 10-yarder to Cornelius Ingram and a 66-yard strike to Louis Murphy.
The Wildcats cut the
Woodson brought the Wildcats back as he hit Jacob Tamme on a 28-yard touchdown pass and after the Gators kicked a field goal Woodson connected with Dicky Lyons on a 50-yard touchdown to pull to within seven.
The Gators weren’t about to buckle though and Percy Harvin gave his team a 14-point cushion when he scored on a 24-yard run early in the fourth quarter. That lead was quickly cut to seven when Woodson and Lyons hooked up for their third touchdown of the game to put the score at 38-31 with 3:35 remaining in the game.
