Matt Flynn hit Demetrius Byrd on a 22-yard touchdown pass with one second on the clock to give the #4 LSU Tigers an amazing 30-24 victory over the #17 Auburn Tigers and keep their hopes of a national title alive.
What made the touchdown all the more amazing was the fact that Flynn attempted the pass. LSU could have gone conservative and tried a short pass over the middle to set up a game game-winning field goal but Flynn took the chance when he saw Byrd gain space along the left side of the field.
It was a heart-breaking loss for
Flynn finished with 318 yards passing and three touchdowns as the LSU offense collected 490 yards.
The win improved LSU’s record to 7-1 on the year and 4-1 in the SEC while
