The New York Giants (5-2) forced four turnovers and their defense collected six sacks while Brandon Jacobs controlled the offensive momentum with 107 yards on the ground and a touchdown in their 33-15 beating of the
San Fran then forced the Giants to punt but on their first play after taking over Dilfer fumbled and
Dilfer was bit by the turnover bug once again as the 49ers quarterback tossed an interception on the team’s first play and the Giants once again had great field position. The Giants drive ended with a Lawrence Tynes 29-yard field goal for a 16-7. Tynes added a 39-yard field goal with 17 seconds left in the half to head into the locker room with a 19-7 advantage.
San Fran looked like they had things in order when they started the third quarter as they drove down to the Giants 15 yard line but Dilfer fumbled once again and Osi Umenyiora grabbed the ball and rumbled 75-yards for the touchdown.
Eli Manning tossed his second touchdown of the game early in the fourth quarter when he found Jeremy Shockey on a 2-yarder.
The win was the Giants fifth straight after dropping their first two games of the year.
