BCS Rankings Released; Week 2 Poll Favors Ohio State and Boston College

Atlanta, Ga. 10/22/2007 8:16:34 AM

With another week of upsets in the world of college football the BCS rankings have shifted significantly in just its second week of being published. While Ohio State maintained its #1 spot atop the BCS poll, losses by South Florida, South Carolina and Kentucky, as well as less than impressive win from Oklahoma provided room for a major move for Arizona State and Oregon.

Boston College moved up one spot to #2 and stand to make a major push for a BCS title run if they can knock off #8 Virginia Tech on Thursday.

Right back in the thick of things are the #3 LSU Tigers who narrowly escaped an upset at the hands of Auburn but quarterback Matt Flynn saved the season with a last second 22-yard toss to Demetrius Byrd.

Jumping four spots in the BCS Poll are the Sun Devils of Arizona State who had a week off. Arizona State will have plenty of chances to keep moving up as they face California next week and then #5 Oregon the following week.

Following their victory over Washington the Oregon Ducks moved up five spots to land at #5 in this week’s poll. Their Pac-10 showdown with #12 USC next week could bolster the Ducks chances of playing in the BCS title game.
