While the Dallas Cowboys (6-1) out-gained the Minnesota Vikings (2-4) 381-196, collected 11 more first downs (22-11), and had a 13 minute advantage in time of possession it was a blocked field goal returned for a touchdown by Pat Watkins in the third quarter that broke a 14-14 tie and led to a 24-14 victory.
Tony Romo had a solid game, throwing for 277 yards and a touchdown on 31-39 passing and Terrell Owens eclipsed the 100 yards receiving mark with a total of 103 yards and a touchdown on seven catches.
Romo and Owens hooked up in the first quarter on a 5-yard touchdown that gave the Cowboys a 7-0 lead. The Vikings answered with a 20-yard touchdown run from rookie Adrian Peterson and then went in front 14-7 when Cedric Griffin returned a fumble 28-yards for a touchdown.
The Cowboys were able to tie the score in the third quarter when Marion Barber capped a five play drive with a one-yard touchdown run.

A costly fumble from Peterson early in the fourth quarter led to the dagger as Nick Folk kicked a 45-yard field goal to provide a ten point cushion.
