Rob Bironas kicked an NFL record eight field goals, none bigger than his last, to give the Tennessee Titans (4-2) a last second 38-36 victory over the Houston Texans (3-4) on Sunday.
It was amazing that the game even came down to a last second field goal as the Titans had built a 32-7 lead heading into the fourth quarter. Having scored their only touchdown off a fumble recovery there was nothing that would have indicated that the Texans would put 29 points on the board in the final quarter, but they did.
Houston scored their first offensive touchdown of the game on a Sage Rosenfels to David Anderson 7-yarder and then five and a half minutes later Rosenfels found Kevin Walter on a 6-yard touchdown pass to make the score 32-22.

That didn’t seem to deter the Texans as once again Rosenfels brought
When Bironas booted it in from 29-yards out it not only gave the Titans the win, but broke the record of seven field goals in a game set by Billy Cundiff (2003), Chris Boniol (1996), Rich Carlis (1989), and Jim Bakken (1967).
