Pat White threw for 144 yards and added 156 yards on the ground and a touchdown while Steve Slaton collected 73 yards rushing and three touchdowns as the #7 West Virginia Mountaineers rolled past the Rutgers Scarlet Knights 31-3 on Saturday.
It was Slaton who put the Mountaineers on the board first with a 38-yard touchdown run in the opening quarter. White then gave the Mountaineers a 14-0 advantage with a 1-yard run early in the second.
The win pushed the Mountaineers to 7-1 on the year and 2-1 in the Big East while the loss dropped the Scarlet Knights to 5-3 and 2-2 in conference play.
