#11 Virginia Tech travels to Atlanta to take on ACC rival Georgia Tech Thursday night on ESPN. The Hokies are coming off of a stunning 14-10 loss to Boston College in which the Eagles scored two touchdowns in the final 2:11, blowing a 10-point lead in the fourth quarter.
With two losses, the Hokies are out of the championship race, but they can still win the ACC Coastal Division title, which Georgia Tech won last year.
By defeating the Yellow Jackets, Virginia Tech can pull into a first-place tie in the Coastal Division with Virginia, a team the Hokies will face in their regular-season finale.
Both teams come into the game with key injuries. Quarterback Tyrod Taylor, who led the Hokies to five straight wins after taking over for Sean Glennon, is bothered by a sore right ankle and didn't play against Boston College. He practiced this week, but coach Frank Beamer has said that it will be a game-time decision whether he plays or not.
Georgia Tech tailbacks Tashard Choice and Raushaun Grant are out, forcing the Yellow Jackets to play their third and fourth-string.
