Joe Torre Named Dodgers Manager
Joe Torre was named the new manager of the Los Angeles Dodgers Thursday afternoon. The former New York Yankees manager replaces Grady Little, who resigned on Tuesday.
Torre's contract is for three years and slightly more than $13 million, according to a baseball official who has seen the deal.
The Yankees offered him a one-year, $5 million contract with $3 million in bonuses, but Torre turned it down. He was making $7.5 million a year as the Yankees manager.
