MLB Schedule Friday April 23: Giants Send Tim Lincecum to Hill to Stop Four Game Slide, Padres Looking for Seventh Straight Against Reds
The San Francisco Giants jumped out to a fast start in the 2010 MLB season but have since cooled considerably, dropping four in a row and now sitting in second place in the NL West. They’ll be sending their ace, Tim Lincecum to the mound on Friday night to end that skid as they host Albert Pujols and the St. Louis Cardinals.
With San Francisco slipping the San Diego Padres have become the new surprise team as they have rattled off six straight wins to take the top spot in the NL West. They’ll look to extend that streak on Friday as they hit the road to face the Cincinnati Reds.
The Boston Red Sox are still trying to figure things out and while they took two of three against the Texas Rangers they can’t afford anything less than a sweep as they host the Baltimore Orioles in a series that stars Friday night.
Minnesota continues to look like a team that could just bury the rest of the AL Central. A fast start has them atop the division and they could add a few more wins with their series against the lowly Kansas City Royals.
Philadelphia is coming off a solid series against the Atlanta Braves, taking two of three, and will head to Arizona to face the Diamondbacks who have had a difficult time in the early season and are now facing the best road team in the National League.
