NBA Playoffs Schedule Friday, April 23: Dwyane Wade Back Home as Heat Host Celtics, Duncan and Nowitzki Showdown in San Antonio
The first round of the NBA playoffs has offered up a few surprises but none bigger than how easily the Boston Celtics have dealt with the Miami Heat. Miami came into the playoffs as one of the hottest teams in the NBA but have looked nothing like a contender in their series with Boston.
Dwyane Wade has had little support in the first two games while the Celtics have had a balanced attack with Paul Pierce, Ray Allen and Rajon Rondo leading the charge. Boston was able to overcome the suspension of Kevin Garnett in Game 2 and with a 2-0 series lead they could all but end Heat hopes with a win on Friday.
The series of the first round may be over in the Western Conference where the Dallas Mavericks and San Antonio Spurs are even at a game apiece. Dirk Nowitzki and Jason Kidd led the Mavs in Game 1 but Tim Duncan and Manu Ginobili pulled the Spurs even in Game 2, sending the series to San Antonio where the fight continues on Friday.
While the Mavericks and Spurs are in the middle of a fight they aren’t the only Western Conference series that could go the distance as the Denver Nuggets and Utah Jazz are involved in a serious battle. Carmelo Anthony led the Nuggets to a Game 1 win but Deron Williams pulled the Jazz back in Game 2 and now the series shifts to Utah.
