NBA Playoffs Schedule Thursday, April 29: Dirk Nowitzki and Dallas Mavericks Look to Avoid Elimination against San Antonio Spurs, Suns Trying to Bounce Trail Blazers
The NBA playoff picture in the Western Conference can get a lot clearer on Thursday as a pair of teams face elimination. While three teams in the Eastern Conference have already punched their ticket to the second round the Western Conference has yet to see a team advance but the San Antonio Spurs and Phoenix Suns can each earn their spot on Thursday.
San Antonio will be hosting Dirk Nowitzki and the Dallas Mavericks and they would love to end the series tonight and not have to play a Game 7 on the road. The Spurs have been all about balance in the series as Tim Duncan, Manu Ginobili and George Hill have paced their attack while Nowitzki has been the driving force for the Mavs and he’ll need plenty of support if they are to survive Game 6.
After dropping the opening game of their series the Phoenix Suns have bounced back and have a 3-2 lead on the Portland Trail Blazers. Now the Suns can close things out but they’ll have to do it on the road if they don’t want to play a Game 7. The Suns experience has been the story of the series as they have had solid production from Steve Nash, Amare Stoudemire and Grant Hill while the Blazers have shown flashes of brilliance but without a healthy Brandon Roy they have had a hard time finding a go-to guy.
