NBA Playoffs Schedule Wednesday May 5: Phoenix Suns Shooting for 2-0 Series Lead Against San Antonio Spurs
The NBA playoffs schedule on Wednesday features just one game but it should be well worth watching as the Phoenix Suns host the San Antonio Spurs in game two of their best-of-seven series. Phoenix comes into game two with a 1-0 lead but the Spurs have plenty of veterans on a squad determined to make one more title run.
While the Suns took game one 111-102 there are plenty of people who see game two producing a different result. The Spurs will almost certainly start Tony Parker on Wednesday; something that could cause added problems for Suns star Steve Nash. In game one Nash put together a great first half and while he finished with 33 points and ten assists he had some trouble in the second half when Parker was on the court.
Phoenix had solid games from Amare Stoudemire and Jason Richardson and those two will need to produce again on Wednesday for the Suns to build a 2-0 series lead. The Suns won’t be able to rely on another poor three-point shooting performance from the Spurs.
San Antonio was led by their own big three as Tim Duncan finished with 20 points and 11 rebounds, Manu Ginobili had 27 points and Tony Parker closed the night with 26 points. The Spurs problems came from a 4-19 shooting performance from beyond the arch and a bad night from George Hill. It’s likely Parker will start in place of Hill on Wednesday, a scenario that could cause some problems for Phoenix.
