NBA Playoffs Schedule Saturday May 8: Kobe Bryant Tries to Give Lakers 3-0 Lead against Jazz, Dwight Howard Leads Orlando Magic into Atlanta to Face Hawks
The NBA playoffs schedule for Saturday features a pair of games that could either signal the end for the Utah Jazz and Atlanta Hawks or act as a new beginning. Utah and Atlanta are both stuck in an 0-2 hole and the Los Angeles Lakers and Orlando Magic will do what they can to make that an 0-3 hole and take one more step toward returning to the NBA Finals.
Orlando has simply dominated the Atlanta as the Hawks have had no answer for Dwight Howard or Jameer Nelson. The Magic crushed the Hawks in Game 1 and followed that with a dominant fourth quarter in Game 2 to grab a 2-0 lead and judging by Atlanta’s performance in each of those contests there really is little reason for optimism. The Hawks have settled for jump shots and failed to figure out a defensive scheme against the more talented Magic and by the end of Saturday they may start cleaning out their lockers.
The Utah Jazz probably think they should be returning home with a 1-1- series on their hands but instead they host the Los Angeles Lakers down 0-2 and need a win on Saturday to stay alive. Kobe Bryant has continued to step up when necessary and take control of the game, something the Jazz have been unable to stop. Carlos Boozer and Deron Williams will need big games on Saturday but more importantly they will need to hold the Lakers to one shot and at least try to neutralize the size advantage the Lakers carry.
