NBA Playoffs Schedule Monday May 17: Kobe Bryant and LA Lakers Face Steve Nash and Phoenix Suns in Game 1 of Western Conference Finals
The NBA playoffs schedule for Monday features just one game as the Western Conference Finals gets underway with the Los Angeles Lakers hosting the Phoenix Suns in Game 1.
Los Angeles is looking to repeat as NBA champs but will have to get past a tough Phoenix squad that has plenty of veteran leadership. The Suns worked their way through a first round battle with the Portland Trailblazers, taking the series in six games, and then swept the San Antonio Spurs in round two to reach the Western Conference Finals.
Phoenix has been led by Steve Nash and Amare Stoudemire, both of whom are looking for their first NBA title. They’ll have their hands full as they take on the Los Angeles Lakers who have a number of weapons including Kobe Bryant, arguably the best big-game player in the NBA.
While Kobe is the go-to guy the Lakers have a supporting cast unlike any other with Pau Gasol, Derek Fisher, Ron Artest, Lamar Odom and Andrew Bynum. That cast swept the Utah Jazz in the second round to earn their trip to the Western Conference Finals.
