Myck Kabongo and Kyle Wiltjer helped lead the Raymond Lewis gold team to a 131-128 win in the 2010 Boost Mobile Elite 24 Classic on Saturday.
Kabongo, who has verbally committed to the Texas Longhorns, had 13 points and a game-high 10 assists, while Wiltjer had 20 points. The team won team MVPs as well for the Raymond Lewis Gold team. The day was big for Wiltjer, overall, as he committed to the Kentucky Wildcats during halftime of the game.
Austin Rivers and James McAdoo took away MVP awards for the Marques Johnson White team. McAdoo, who has committed to the North Carolina Tar Heels, had 10 points and a game-high 11 rebounds.
Rivers, the nation’s No. 1 ranked high school player by Rivals.com, had 15 points despite going down with a wrist injury in the game. Rivers, the son of Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers, was nicknamed "The Medic" by announcer Bobbito Garcia before he went down.
In the skills competition on Friday, Bradley Beal, who committed to the Florida Gators, took home the title over Quinn Cook, while Quddus “Deuce” Bello won the Slam Dunk competition over Stephen Marshall.
The fifth annual game took place at Venice Beach, the famed playground courts in Los Angeles, after four years of playing at the prestigious Holcombe Rucker Park in Harlem.
