Seattle Mariners outfielder Greg Halman died Monday in the Netherlands after being stabbed multiple times. Dutch authorities say officers responding to an emergency call found Halman, 24, dead at a house in Rotterdam. The MLB star’s younger brother, who has been identified by the media as 22-year-old Jason Halman, was arrested in connection with the attack.
"He is under arrest and right now he is being questioned. It will take some time to figure out what exactly happened,” a police spokesperson told the Associated Press.
No other details have been released. Halman started his pro baseball career in the Netherlands in 2003. He was 16-years-old when he made his major league debut with the Dutch team Corendon Kimheim. Halman then played with the Mariners in the 2010 and 2011 seasons.
