Mark Cuban, who is perhaps best known for owning the Dallas Mavericks, says that he will soon be working with controversial media figure Charlie Sheen.
According to a report from ESPN.com, "Cuban confirmed Sunday evening that he's had several conversations with Sheen recently about developing programming for HDNet, the cable network Cuban owns."
Cuban explained the situation in rather general terms: "You've got somebody that everybody has a whole lot of interest in who's doing some interesting things, to say the least, and we always look for interesting programming by featuring interesting people doing interesting things," said Cuban. "I reached out and we've had some conversations, and we're going to work on doing some things."
If Cuban wants to focus some programming around an interesting person doing some interesting things, then Sheen is probably not that bad of a candidate. Sheen has been at the center of the media spotlight for months now because of his his publicized intoxications, his alleged encounter with an escort, and his recent dismissal from the hit CBS show "Two and a Half Men."
"We're trying to decide," Cuban said. "Right now, we're taping a lot of different things that he's doing and we'll try to figure it out. It's still not 100 percent certain.
"We'll do something together, but it's not certain it will be a show. It'll come down to what he wants do and what his situation is. We'll just figure it out from there, but it's a unique opportunity, I'll say that."
