Rebecca Black has become an overnight sensation with her catchy hit song "Friday", the music video of which has received over 48 million views so far on YouTube. Here are some fun facts about the 13-year-old sudden star:
1. Black was born on June 21, 1997. She is from a neighorhood called Anaheim Hills in Orange County, Florida.
2. Black's hit song "Friday" was posted on YouTube on February 10th and received about 1,000 views in its firth month. Since the video went viral sometime around March 11th, the video has received over 47.5 million views. As of March 22nd, the first-week sales of her digital single were estimated to be around 40,000 by Billboard.com
3. Black has appeared on various TV shows since the release of her song, including "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" and "Good Morning America." In both of those appearances, she discussed not only her sudden fame but also her reaction to all of the negative feedback she has received because of the song.
4. Black said during her interview on the "The Tonight Show With Jay Leno" that she is donating the proceeds from her song to Japan and to her school.
5. Black is interested in musical theater and has been selected as the lead for one of her school's musicals this year. "I got the lead this year for Oklahoma!" the eighth-grader told PEOPLE. "I've always been in our school's shows, ever since first grade."
6. Black is a huge fan of Justin Bieber. "I am so dorky when it comes to Justin Bieber," Black told PEOPLE. "I have a little mini shrine in my room." Black said she "would scream at the top of my lungs and possibly not be able to sing again" if Bieber asked her to collaborate on something with him.
7. Black is also a big Selena Gomez fan. "I totally admire her," says Black. "I think it's awesome that she hasn't taken that downward spiral that other child stars have taken."
8. According to her mother, Black is smart. "She's also an honors student," says Georgina Kelly. "She's won spelling bees ... she's a smart cookie."
