On Tuesday night, the Cleveland Cavaliers were able to get a small amount of 'revenge' on their former star player LeBron James. After having lost their first three games against LeBron's new team this season, the Cavs pulled off a 102-90 home victory against the Miami Heat. The victory represented not only the Cavs' first win against the Miami Heat this season but also their first home victory against the Heat and their 15th win all season long.
LeBron James actually achieved a triple-double during the game, with 27 points, 12 assists, and 10 rebounds. But it was not enough to hold off the Cavs.
J.J. Hickson scored 21 points and got 12 rebounds, while Anthony Parker contributed 20 points and 7 rebounds. Ryan Hollins also played a key role in the victory, recording 2 steals and 3 blocks.
"Anytime we play anybody, we know we're going to get the best out of them," said James, after the loss. "They came out and played extremely well. It was a good win for them."
But it was more than just another win for the Cavs, who currently have the worst record in the NBA and who will not be going to the playoffs for the first time in 6 years.
"This was for the fans and for their support," said Cavs guard Daniel Gibson. "They've stayed behind us and this was a way of saying thank you."
"The first time we played them here, we were embarrassed and they took a little from us," said Parker, referring to the Cavs' home game loss to the Heat on December 2nd. "This is the night that we wanted to get that back, for us, but more for the fans. That was great getting it back for them."
