Orlando Magic center Dwight Howard is now just one technical foul away from another suspension. Howard, who currently leads the league in technical fouls, received his 17th technical on Monday when he threw the basketball into the backcourt after he received a loose-ball foul during a game against the New York Knicks.
Orlando players argued that throwing the ball into the backcourt usually warrants only a delay of game call. Howard attempted to have the technical foul judgment rescinded, but an NBA spokesperson said on Tuesday that it will be upheld.
Howard served his first suspension after receiving his 16th technical. And because he has received so many technicals, he will receive a one-game suspension for every other technical that he might receive from now on.
