On Monday, it was announced that former NBA forward Dennis Rodman will be inducted into the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 2011.
"It's cool, man. It's a great feeling," said Rodman.
Rodman, 49, played for various teams during his 14 NBA seasons (1986-2000), including most notably the Detroit Pistons and the Chicago Bulls. After having won 2 NBA Finals rings with the Pistons, Rodman went on to win 3 more Finals rings playing for the Bulls alongside Michael Jordan.
Rodman is best remembered for having been an excellent defender. Indeed, he was twice named the NBA Defensive Player of the Year, once in 1990 and once again in 1991. Rodman was also named to the All-Defensive First Team seven times and led the NBA in rebounding seven consecutive seasons from 1992 to 1998.
