Miami Heat guard Dwyane Wade is expected to play in Game 2 of the playoff series against the Philadelphia 76ers on Monday despite having missed practice on Sunday because of a migraine.
Due to light sensitivity, Wade will likely wear tinted glasses during the game. He wore them during the team's shootaround, and Heat coach Erik Spoelstra says other Heat on the team were teasing him about it.
"He was wearing shades, the guys were calling him 'Blade'," said Spoelstra. "Hopefully he'll be ready to go."
Wade's status for Game 2 is still not certain, however. The plan is for Wade to test himself with an on-court workout on Monday afternoon before a final decision is made.
According to Spoelstra, however, Wade is feeling much better than before.
"He just did some light shooting but he is feeling significantly better," said Spoelstra.
LeBron James commented on seeing Wade back on the court on Monday.
"It was very encouraging [for him to be at shootaround]; we want to be as close to full strength as possible," said James. "To see D-Wade back on the court was great to see."
Meanwhile, 76ers coach Doug Collins has a plan in case Wade plays in Game 2 against his team.
"I have a set of cymbals that every time he runs by the bench, I'm slashing them," said Collins. "And I went out and bought the brightest flashlight I could find, and every time I get eye contact I'm shooting it at him. He's going to be great. He always is. He's a lot like [Michael Jordan]. I think his mental capacity to fight through these things is off the charts and we expect him to be terrific."
