It’s been less than a month since Apple issued a software update for their highly popular iPhone that actually disabled programs that had been installed on the phone by the user. As a course of controlling what applications an iPhone owner could use, Apple ensure that no third party software could operate on the phone.
After much public backlash, Apple has decided to go the opposite route and plans to offer a kit that will assist users in uploading any application that wish to use on their phone or iPod Touch, the portable iPod that resembles the iPhone but doesn’t carry calling functionality.
The software development kit isn’t expected to be released until February.
