The highly anticipated launch of Grand Theft Auto IV has arrived and the Take-Two Interactive and Rockstar Games product is expected to shatter the opening-week record of $300 million set by Halo 3 last year.
GTA IV will be available for both Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 on Tuesday; two years after Take-Two announced the product at the Electronic Entertainment Expo.
The highly controversial video game features a seemingly lawless land that rewards its characters for stealing cars, running from police, killing innocent bystanders, driving drunk and hitting strip clubs.
GTA IV is expected to sell about 9 million units during the first week.
