suffered from abuse, both physically and sexually. She always wanted to break

Once Karen was able to move out of her parent’s home she was
able to put that part of her life behind her. Yet she eventually would end up
facing the same challenges when her husband became abusive to her. The story
that is in the book chronicles how she went from victim to survivor to
achiever.
