ActorsE Chat, a Pepper Jay Production on the Actors Podcast Network, announced the March 7 episode featuring an interview with actress Dawna Lee Heising. After years in the business and a series of roles in which the actress was prominently featured, Heising is now being offered starring assignments. Interviewer, Actor and former Wrestler Ric Drasin questioned Dawna on her latest lead roles, her love of acting and the training she undergoes to be assignment ready. ActorsE Chat, an informational website for actors, was the idea of John Michael Ferrari, Creative Producer, Director, Editor, who says that the multi-talented Heising’s rise to fame after many years in the business gives inspiration to many actresses who seek fame, but are unwilling to expend the patience and hard work required. About Pepper Jay
Pepper Jay began her performance career at age five. When she wasn’t appearing in television sitcoms, such as ‘The Real McCoys,’ she was performing on stage in school, at local parks, or community theater. After graduating from San Diego State University, Pepper Jay, she taught several subjects for the Los Angeles Unified School District including drama, dance, health education, and physical education. During the 1970’s, she taught at Hollywood High School, John Muir Junior High School, and at Crenshaw High School, where she was also in charge of coordinating and producing shows by the 100+ member drill team. Completing her pubic teaching career in 1983, she began private performance teaching and coaching. Pepper also continues her public speaking engagements for both public and private schools; sharing with school children topics such as ‘Listen and Be Heard,’ and ‘The Power of Money.’
In 1990, Pepper Jay became John Michael Ferrari’s performance coach. In 1991, they partnered to create their entertainment company, Pepper Jay Productions. From 1993 through 2008, Pepper Jay created and hosted the Working Actors Group, offering on camera and cold reading workshops to working actors. Today, Pepper Jay is found on both sides of the camera. She is a producer of live music entertainment and media content and director of films (‘Hercules In Hollywood’), documentaries (‘Women Warriors’), and music videos (‘Run’). She coaches performance skills for actors, speakers, and singers. Pepper Jay (“SAG and AEA”) also remains a working actor (“The Call” – 2011, “Midlife” – 2011, “Brooklyn USA” – 2010, “Marked” -2007).
About John Michael Ferrari
Music has been an integral part of John’s life -- writing it, singing it, and sharing it with audiences bi-coastally. This passion for performing and writing music was the foundation of John Michael Ferrari’s career as an entertainer, composer, and a performance coach. During the 70’s, John began writing musical jingles for radio commercials. As a songwriter, his “Dustoff, penned by Ferrari while serving in the United States Army in Viet Nam, is a favorite among Veterans. Ferrari, the cabaret performer, still entertains and “wow.” John and his band “Ferrari & Friends” perform nostalgic tunes, soft rock, ballads, and show tunes. John continues to share his entertainment talents with many charity events and good causes, including: International Myeloma Foundation, The Thalians Ball, Our House, the Jonssen Cancer Center, Save Ballona Wetlands, and the City of Hope to name but a few.
Although Ferrari wears many hats, he treasures most the time he spends coaching with his singer and actor students. As a photographer and director of photography, John has worked with many of the top models and up and coming filmmakers of today. His photography graces CD covers (i.e., “Minor Matters,” for Peoples Republic) and movie posters (i.e. “Redemption,” for Agenda Pictures). About Dawna Lee Heising
Dawna Lee Heising is a member of SAG-AFTRA. Dawna belonged to Sal Romeo's Friends and Artists Theatre Group in Los Angeles for many years, and has appeared in numerous film, TV and theatre productions. Dawna is the executive producer and host of the nationally broadcast television series, "Eye on Entertainment" (2005), and is the Hollywood correspondent for MoreHorror.com. She is also the CEO of Excellence PR, which includes PR executive Stan Goodrich and video editor John Cox. Dawna has a B.S. in Business Management and MBA from Pepperdine University and is the CEO of "Eye on Excellence Productions" and "Eye on Excellence PR." She has an A.A. in Theatre Arts and A.S. in Chemistry from Cypress College, and has studied acting at the University of California at Berkeley. Dawna is Miss Celebrities of Facebook 2012, and won Ms. World 2008; Ms. Universe 2009; Mrs. California United States 2000; and Mrs. American Achievement 2001. She is also a former Miss Los Angeles Chinatown; Miss Orange County Universe: Miss San Francisco Universe; and Miss California Hemisphere, among other titles. She is trained in ballet and jazz dancing, Tae Kwon Do and pole dancing.
About Ric Drasin
Ric Drasin (born July 12, 1944) is an American artist, actor, webcast host, stuntman, writer, personal trainer, former bodybuilder, and retired professional wrestler. Drasin designed both the original Gold's Gym logo— a cartoon sketch of a bald weightlifter—and the World Gym gorilla logo. Arnold Schwarzenegger was Drasin's weight training partner for four years at the original Gold's Gym in Venice, California. Drasin wrestled professionally for 36 years (1965–2001) while also winning titles in amateur bodybuilding contests during his younger years. He retired from the ring at age 57, but still remains active as a professional wrestling instructor. He is also a Specialist Reserve Officer with the Los Angeles Police Department, a spokesperson for Gold's Gym International and continues his work as an artist, actor, webcast host, and writer. In 2012, Drasin received the first Joe Gold Lifetime Achievement Award. His talk show Ric's Corner which goes back to the history of the Golden Era of Bodybuilding.
