Jill Jaxx, noted vocalist, vocal coach and entertainer, has announced the release of a new CD, “The Impossible Dream,” featuring baritone Bill Suarez. Suarez, who has appeared on television and shared the stage with such legendary performers as Bob Hope, Bing Crosby, Perry Como and Carol Burnett, first gained fame for his singing appearances with the Young Americans. Suarez, however, abandoned his career to care for ailing parents and an aunt until last years, when, says Jaxx, “The growing wave of nostalgia sweeping the country prompted fans to contact him, imploring him to return to the recording scene.” After a few months of singing lessons with Jaxx, the two felt his resonant baritone was ready and approached LA record producer Dino Maddalone about doing an album.
With Jaxx producing and Maddalone engineering, the team brought in well-known Brazilian musicians Rique Pantoja and Julio Figuroa, as well as famed guitarist Todd Robinson. The list of players was rounded out by Rob Klopfenstein, Jan Bunker, Ray Kanarski, Dig Lewis and Dino Maddalone. The resulting “Impossible Dream” album, now available for listening pleasure, features a selection of ballad favorites, including “Smile,” “Watch What Happens,” “And, I Love You So,” and, of course, “The Impossible Dream.”
The latter song is a testament to the struggles, which individuals, including Suarez, have had to overcome in their lives. Suarez was only 5 months old when he was dropped from a second story window by a babysitter. He was lucky to survive but his pituitary gland was damaged, and he grew to his present height of 4’10” by his fifth birthday. He developed some amazing gifts as a result of this tragedy -- he became a phenomenal baseball player and an incredible singer. Suarez’ return to the entertainment field also resulted in his being selected to narrate the “The Alien’s Wife,” a popular TV show currently airing on selected TV cables, including Cox, Time Warner, Verizon and, most recently, ClickVision. “The Impossible Dream” can be ordered from Suarez’ Web Site: www.billsuarez.com
