Magnet Releasing Has US Theatrical and VOD Rights to THE INNKEEPERS, which Stars Sara Paxton, Pat Healy and Kelly McGillis

Dawna Lee Heising interviewed director Ti West and stars Pat Healy and Sara Paxton of THE INNKEEPERS at the SLS Hotel in Beverly Hills, CA for MoreHorror.com.  The segment was filmed and edited by John Cox. Written, directed and edited by West, who previously collaborated with Magnet on the landmark indie horror favorite The House of the Devil, THE INNKEEPERS stars Sara Paxton, Pat Healy, and Kelly McGillis, and was produced by Derek Curl, Peter Phok, West and Larry Fessenden for MPI/Dark Sky Films in partnership with Glass Eye Pix. The Wagner/Cuban Company’s Magnet Releasing, genre arm of Magnolia Pictures,Magnet, released THE INNKEEPERS through its Ultra VOD program, launching the film on all digital VOD platforms on December 30th of 2011, with a theatrical release in major markets set for early February of 2012. MPI Media Group is releasing the film on DVD.

THE INNKEEPERS is set in the Yankee Pedlar Inn, which is about to shut its doors for good after over a century of service. Believed by many to be one of New England’s “most haunted hotels,” the last remaining employees - Claire (Sara Paxton) and Luke (Pat Healy)- are determined to uncover proof before it shuts down for good. Writer, producer and director Ti West has been called the most exciting young American horror director today, due to his award-winning film The House of the Devil.  West has produced stellar work since the start of his career, infusing both the vampire film, The Roost (2004), and the muscular backwoods splatter-flick, Triggerman (2007), with keen filmmaking intelligence. Like his producer and frequent collaborator Larry Fessenden, West likes to create distinctive personalities and see how they work in whatever creepy scenario he’s envisioned. Larry Fessenden is president of Glass Eye Pix, an independent film production company based in New York City.  Glass Eye Pix is the parent company of the low budget horror banner Scareflix, which was designed to exploit hungry new talent and inspire resourceful filmmakers while celebrating the diversity of the horror movie -- from creature features to tales of psychological dread.

Actor Pat Healy appeared onscreen from the late '90s onward, with parts in such features as Magnolia (1999), Ghost World (2001) and Undertow (2004). As an actor, Healy graduated to premier billing with his central role in the scathing satire Great World of Sound -- playing a record producer unwittingly employed by a scam outfit to bilk thousands of dollars from average citizens. Healy also wrote, directed, and acted in his own short film, Mullitt (2000), which ran at the {~Sundance Film Festival}.  Sara Paxton was born in Woodland Hills, California. At a young age she began acting in television commercials.  She was cast in her first film at the age of 8 as a child at school and at the party in Liar Liar (1997).  She has starred in numerous movies and in television shows such as "SpongeBob SquarePants" (1999) and "Malcolm in the Middle" (2000). She had a recurring TV role on the WB's "Summerland" (2004).
